2003 - He didn’t start pitching until 2003. He was 15 years old before he joined a baseball team.

 

2010 - Signed with the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-year contract ($30.25 million).

 

2015 - Traded to the New York Yankees for Caleb Cotham, Rookie Davis, Eric Jagielo and Tony Renda.

 

2016 - Traded to the Chicago Cubs for Gleyber Torres, Billy McKinney, Adam Warren, and Rashad Crawford.

 

2016 - During game 7 of the World Series versus Cleveland attempted to close out a 6–3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. He blew the save opportunity and allowed Cleveland to tie the game.

 

2016 - Chapman signed a 5-year deal with the Yankees ($86 million).

2015 - He was involved in a domestic violence incident. He was accused of choking his girlfriend and firing eight gunshots. The MLB banned him for 30 games as a result of "Chapman's use of the firearm and its effect on his partner”.
