Playing Career:
1977 - Drafted by the Texas Rangers (5th round).
He played minor league baseball from 1977 to 1985 and 1987 to 1990
His career minor league batting average is .225.
Coaching Career:
1992 - Coaching career started (GCL Royals in the Gulf Coast League).
2014 - Promoted to a coaching role with the Kansas City Royals.
2015 - Won a World Series as a coach of the Royals.
Extra:
During the off-season he works at D. Mitchell Interiors in downtown Clintonville.
Dan Bernstein (a journalist) claims that when Jirschele was managing the RFD Royals, he tried to distract him during a pregame interview by placing his genitals on Bernstein's tape recorder (see here).
