2011 - Scott Cousins collided with him at home plate and Posey suffered a fractured fibula and torn ligaments in his ankle (resulting in season-ending surgery). This led to the "Buster Posey Rule" (rule 7.13) which states that "a runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate)."

2016 - The Giants TV broadcaster Jon Miller made a mistake after Hunter Pence hit a home run and said Buster Posey...'s good friend Hunter Pence. Hunter Pence changed his twitter account to say, "I'm @BusterPosey's good friend Hunter Pence."
