Baseball Related:

1998 - Drafted by the Cleveland Indians (20th overall)

2001 - He finished second to Ichiro Suzuki for AL Rookie of the Year

2008 - Traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for Matt LaPorta, Michael Brantley, Zach Jackson and Rob Bryson

2008 - Prior to leaving Cleveland he took out an ad in the newspaper to thank the city.

2008 - On December 18th he signed a 7-year, $161 million contract with the New York Yankees.

2015 - Sabathia entered spring training weighing 305 pounds.


2017 - Re-signed with the Yankees on a one-year contract for $10 million.

Extra:

In 2014 he was helping coach a youth football team named the Tenafly Tigers. The head coach was named Kevin Waldan.

A lawsuit was filed against Sabathia claimed that his dogs of brutally attack a man name Phillip Epstein who was working as an electrician at his New Jersey home (Fall 2014). According to the lawsuit the man was left with permanent leg injuries.

Dog: The dog in discussion is named Raider (an Old English Sheepdog); he was listed among the 30 Most Adorable Pets in Sports in 2012 by the Bleacher Report

2015 - Sabathia went into an alcohol treatment centre.
