2006 - The Mets hired Rickey Henderson (former player) as a specialist instructor to help tutor Reyes in the arts of getting on base and stealing bases.
2015 - October 31st - Reyes was arrested for assault against his wife (Wailea, Hawaii). Prosecutors dismissed the domestic abuse charges on the grounds that his wife was refusing to cooperate as a witness. Reyes was given a 51-game suspension.
When he returned to the Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud had his number 7 jersey but gave it up for Reyes.
