2017 - Traded from the Braves to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Adrian Gonzalez, Scott Kazmir, Brandon McCarthy, Charlie Culberson and cash considerations.

2002 - He and three high school basketball teammates were accused of raping a 19-year-old woman (after an All-star basketball tournament on January 20, 2002, at the Columbus, Ohio Hyatt hotel). The woman did not press charges, and the district attorney did not pursue the matter.

2008 - An ex-girlfriend (Felisha Terrell) filed a restraining order against him claiming she had been abused by him. The complaint was later dropped and her representative stated that the restraining order "had nothing to do with domestic violence."

2012 - “I'm going to go 50-50,” Kemp was quoted before spring training. “I'm telling you, y'all created a monster.” He ended the season with 23 home runs and 9 stolen bases.
