October 2011 - Braun took a drug test. The results were leaked in December 2011 and a source was quoted saying, the results were "insanely high, the highest ever for anyone who has ever taken a test, twice the level of the highest test ever taken". At this time a second test was done and normal levels were recorded. Braun challenged the first results (that would have led to a 50-game suspension) and won.
He publicly attacked the tester, Dino Laurenzi afterwards.

February 2013 - Braun's name was found at the Biogenesis clinic.
July 22, 2013 - he was suspended for the remainder of the season (65 games) for his involvement with the Biogenesis clinic (and lost $3.25 million in salary).
He released a statement saying, "'It was a huge mistake for which I am deeply ashamed and I compounded the situation by not admitting my mistakes immediately." He apologized to Dino Laurenzi for his verbal attacks.

2010 - He opened two restaurants in Wisconsin (Ryan Braun's Waterfront and Ryan Braun's Tavern & Grill). Both restaurants are now closed and one is renamed "Tuscan Tavern & Grill".

2012 - He opened a restaurant (with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers) called 8-Twelve, in Brookfield, Wisconsin (it was renamed Hom Wood Fired Grill after Ryan Braun's drug use).

SURG Restaurant Group was the restaurant company he worked with and they have since dropped him.
He said in an interview that heckling doesn't bother him, "say what you want about me, but I am strong".
