2007 - Drafted by the Washington Nationals ($346,000 signing bonus).

 

2014 - Traded from the Nationals (with Travis Ott) to the Tampa Bay Rays (3 team trade with lots of players).
 

2018 - Traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Arizona Diamondback (3-team trade with the New York Yankees). Brandon Drury went from Arizona to New York.

Souza had a bad reputation in the minor leagues for a selfish attitude and spent most of his time partying. He was busted of using "performance enhancing" drugs.

​

2010 - While playing for the Hagerstown Suns he received a 50 game suspension for use of a banned substance. He tested positive for Concerta, is a prescription stimulant used to treat ADHD.

 

2011 - Had confrontation with Potomac Nationals manager Matt LeCroy and quit baseball.
