2011 - Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates  (602nd overall) but did not sign.

 

2014 - Drafted by the San Diego Padres (13th overall).

 

2014 - Traded from the Padres to the Washington Nationals as part of a 3-team trade (Tampa Bay Rays).

 

2015 - August 21st - Major League debut with the Washington Nationals.

In high school Turner faced the late pitcher Jose Fernandez (Tampa-Alonso High School) in the state baseball semifinals. During the game Turner fouled off a pitch of Fernandez which broke his metal bat.

At 15 years old he was cut from the PAL Travel team in Palm Beach County, Florida.
