Tim Bravo is a high school teacher and coach from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Puig lived with Bravo and his family during his time in the minors He later paid for Bravo and his family to move to Miami.

2011 - Played for the Cuban national team in the World Port Tournament
At the tournament he tried to defect along with teammate Gerardo Concepción. Concepción was successful but Puig was not. When he returned to Cuba he was punished and was not allowed to play during the 2011–12 seasons of the Cuban National Series.

 

2012 - He played winter ball in Puerto Rico with the Mayaguez Indios.

 

2012 - Signed a 7-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers ($42 million).

 

2013 - June 3rd - Major League debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

 

2017 - Lost the World Series in 7 games to the Houston Astros.

2017 - He gave two middle fingers to Cleveland fans at Progressive Field after hitting a home run. He was suspended 1 game (see picture).

From 2009 onward Puig tried to defect to Mexico 13 times. On the 4th time the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant intercepted a boat he was on near Haiti. The cartel agreed to sell Puig for $250,000 to Raul Pacheco (involved in many player smuggling cases). 


2013 - He was charged with reckless driving and speeding in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Puig was caught driving 97 mph (156 km/h) in a 50 mph (80 km/h) zone.

 

2013 - Puig was arrested again on another reckless driving charge. He was driving 110 miles per hour (180 km/h) in a 70 miles per hour (110 km/h) zone, in Naples, Florida. He was taken to the Collier County Jail. The State of Florida dropped the charges shortly after.
