2008 - Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers (4th round).

 

2011 - June 6th - Major League debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers

 

2014 - Traded from the Dodgers (with Dan Haren and Miguel Rojas) to the Miami Marlins, along for Andrew Heaney, Chris Hatcher, Austin Barnes, and Enrique Hernández.

 

2016 - Signed a 5-year contract with the Marlins ($50 million).

 

2017 - Traded from the Marlins (with international slot money) to the Seattle Mariners for Nick Neidert, Christopher Torres, and Robert Dugger.

2016 - April 29, 2016, Gordon was suspended for 80 games due to performance-enhancing drugs use (exogenous testosterone and clostebol). Barry Bonds was his hitting coach at the time. Marlins team president David Samson called Gordon's suspension a "betrayal".

 

During the off-season he works out at a camp in Orlando, Florida run by former player Barry Larkin.

 

Carlos Gonzalez, Francisco Lindor and Nick Gordon also attend. The nickname of the camp is "B-Lark University".

 

Every year he hosts a hometown basketball tournament at the City Park on E Hal McRae Blvd. in Avon Park, Florida.

Stephen King wrote a book called, "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" about Dee's father.
